Oak & Star Tavern at Epic Universe is a whimsical casual dining option that is a great place to dine at Epic Universe. Our family of five recently dined there and today I am sharing our Oak & Star Tavern review and what it cost for our family lunch.

Tucked away in Celestial Park is Oak & Star Tavern, a quiet space that is perfect for lunch during your day at Epic Universe.

On our most recent visit it was the middle of summer, and it was ridiculously hot and humid. Finding a table in the “quiet room” was a perfect opportunity for my family to recharge for our day.

The exterior is welcoming with its brick and green, giving a nature whimsical vibe. When you enter you see the stars and branches along the walls and ceiling. There are animal paintings and little details making this a really cozy spot for a meal.

Oak & Star Tavern has guests enter a cozy casual dining restaurant that has an earthy vibe with animal sketches and large oak tree branches overhead. It is located in the Celestial Park area of Epic Universe.

The tavern is also home to The Plastered Owl where guests can listen to live music, starting at 10:45am, and have a drink. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

For the indoor seating there is a quiet space and a louder space where the music is. We opted for the quiet space during our lunch. The stained glass enhances the ambiance of the restaurant and is was one of my favorite quiet spaces to eat at the park.

Menu

Oak & Star Tavern serves BBQ entrees, kids meals, and specialty beverages. They serve breakfast and are typically open for lunch and dinner. Below I share details of what we ordered. Learn more about the full menu here.

What We Ordered

There are 5 of us so we had an opportunity to try a few different things during our lunch. We shared a few dishes because there was more than enough to share plus it saves us a little money.

When you arrive you choose your table and scan the QR code on the table. From there you will order your food and then a team member will deliver it. If you prefer to order at the counter you can, just ask a team member where to go and they will assist you.

Our Oak & Tavern Order:

  • Mini Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries and watermelon ($9.49)
  • Two Meat/One Side-Chicken & Brisket ($23.99)
  • Slow Smoked Brisket ($18.99)
  • Huli Huli Pulled Pork ($17.99)
  • Mango Bread

Most of what we got was a bit redundant because it was different meats and sides but all of what we got was pretty good.

We started with an order of the Mango Bread to share. This had a great flavor and was different than the traditional corn bread you might find at a BBQ restaurant.

Next up was the meats. We tried the pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. All of these were seasoned and cooked well.

We also tried the seasoned fries, mac and cheese, and watermelon sides. Everyone liked these as well. All of our meals were well cooked, not overly greasy, and the staff was helpful and informative.

My Final Thoughts

Oak & Star Tavern is a solid casual dining option at Epic Universe. If you like BBQ style food you will enjoy the meat platter options. Our total cost for lunch was $90.46. This aligns with prices for lunch options at the park.

There are also multiple side options that we didn’t get to try like Braised Greens, Tropical Coleslaw, Smoked Harissa Cauliflower, Burnt Ends Baked Beans, Smoked Cheddar Biscuits, Side of BBQ Bacon, and Smoked Sausage.

They actually have so many different side options I would love to go back to try a few. Overall the ambiance and the food at Oak & Star is a great addition to your day at Epic Universe.
