Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous brings the stories of Dr. Seuss to Universal Orlando. In this post I share my review of Circus McGurkus and if it is a good choice for dining at Islands of Adventure.
Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous is like walking into the story of Dr. Seuss with its bright child-like theme. Kids and adults will enjoy the theme of this casual dining restaurant at Islands of Adventure.
Circus McGurkus is located in the Seuss Landing area of the park and has a casual sit-down option and a window service pick-up counter.
For this I want to share my experience and review of Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous casual dining and help you decide if it is a good option for your day at Islands of Adventure.
Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous at Islands of Adventure
Circus McGurkus puts a bright “wow” factor into casual dining at Islands of Adventure. Guests enter through a circus tent entrance to see bright yellow and red colors, trapeze artists, and even the High in the Sky Trolley makes an appearance through the restaurant.
This is not a place you go for a quiet meal but it is a fun location that feels like you are stepping into a Dr. Seuss book.
We have visited this location dozens of times over the last ten years. Years ago it had pizza and was served cafeteria style. Now guests are seated at a table and order from the QR code. If you prefer not to order from your phone speak to a team member for assistance.
The menu has also changed a bit and they really leaned into the theme to inspire the dishes.

Menu
Circus McGurkus serves burgers, pasta, and chicken dishes. Below I share specifically what we have ordered. You can view a full menu here or check the pick-up menu here.

What We Ordered
There are 5 of us so we have tried a few different options at the restaurant. I have not tried the desserts here yet either. There is a green eggs and ham chocolate cheesecake and a caramel popcorn cupcake that we skipped, to be honest it just didn’t sound great but maybe next time!
Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous Order:
- The Big Top Burger ($16.99)
- Magical Meatball Cone($17.99)
- Roast Beast Sandwich ($19.99)
- Chicken & Waffle ($15.99)
The two different burgers we tried were very good and the portion size was big. You could probably share this if you want a lighter lunch.

The Magician Meatball Cone is one we go back to on most visits. It is a great option for kids and adults that are looking for a pasta option. I like that there is something for everyone on the menu.

My Final Thoughts
I love the atmosphere of Circus McGurkus. The theme is perfect for Seuss Landing and it carries the vibe into the restaurant and the menu. For a family of 5 the cost of our meal at Circus McGurkus was $88.95 without drinks.
The food I am mixed about. It is not bad, but it is not my favorite either. It is a step above regular theme park food but you can get better food at Islands of Adventure. We do include it in our visits because of the fun ambiance.
I noticed it has updated its menu since my last visit. When we visited it had a Popcorn Shrimp entree that is not longer on the menu.
This is a good sign that they are constantly improving. I would definitely plan a visit to Circus McGurkus if you are spending a lot of time in Seuss Landing and looking for a solid meal choice.
