Minion Cafe is a fun and colorful Minion inspired dining spot at Universal Studios Florida. I’m sharing what to expect when dining here and my full review of Minion Cafe at Universal Orlando.
Located in Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida, Minion Cafe is a casual dining option for guests looking to sit-down to a good meal, that won’t take up too much of their park day.
With Despicable Me and Minion inspired dishes, lots of banana flavors, this is a dining option that offers traditional options as well as unique options for guests at Universal Studios Florida.
Minion Cafe at Universal Studios Florida
Minion Cafe has a colorful exterior that you can’t miss as you walk through Minion Land. It is a casual dining restaurant with indoor seating.
Guests will arrive and find a table, then mobile order from the QR code at your table. Guests that prefer to not order off their phones can find a team member to assist them.
Minion Cafe was one of the dining options I was really excited to check out when it opened. I love a good themed dining area. Epic Universe has two of my favorites, Mead Hall and Toadstool Cafe, and I was looking forward to trying a Minion themed dining experience.
It did not disappoint and is one of my favorite places to eat at Universal Studios Florida.

Menu
Minion Cafe offers two options to guests that want to enjoy the menu. Illumination’s Minion Cafe Pickup and Illumination’s Minion Cafe. You will find an overlap with the menu options. The biggest difference is the pickup is an outdoor window you will pick up your food from. There is not seating for this option.
At first glance the menu can seem a bit “out there”. Some of the dishes are not your usual theme park food. You can view the full menu here. For this post I want to get into details on what we ordered and what it cost for my family of five.

What We Ordered
There are five of us and for this meal we ordered 5 different dishes and a specialty drink. All prices were accurate during our visit but may change.
Our Illumination’s Minion Cafe order:
- Lucy’s Top Secret Salmon ($21.99)
- El Macho’s Salsa y Salsa Ropa Vieja ($18.99)
- Uncle Dru’s Belly Fillin’ Pork Sandwich ($17.99)
- Agnes Honeymoon Soup ($16.99)
- The Antidote ($7.99)
- Shrunken Moonballs with Flying Sauce ($9.49)
I ordered the Salmon and I thought it was delicious. The sides are not what I would typically order but I enjoy trying new foods and this was really good.
The braised beef with rice and vegetables was great. It was another meal that was a different option than our typical choices but delivered in flavor and portion size.

If you want to stick to more traditional menu items the pork sandwich is a great option. It comes with a side of green banana chips but you could order a side of Minion tots if you prefer.
The tomato soup and grilled cheese combo is another great choice for guests who like to stick to traditional dining options.

Lastly there is a kids menu that offers pasta and pb & j. We have ordered the spaghetti on numerous visits and it is always a hit.
We also like to share a dessert option and this time we tried the Antidote. This is a banana cream pie flavored beverage. It has a frozen butterbeer consistency and if you like bananas you will like this.

Our total cost for Minion Cafe for a family of 5 was $93.44. This is typical for casual dining at Universal. If you are trying to cut costs consider sharing dishes or ordering from the kids menu.
My Final Thoughts
As I mentioned earlier in this post I was really excited to try Minion Cafe. To be honest, when I saw the menu I was a bit nervous. I wasn’t sure if there would be options for everyone in my family.
When we arrived and read through the menu we were pleasantly surprised to find something everyone could enjoy. The ambiance of the restaurant and the food are great.
Everyone will love exploring the dining areas to find Minions everywhere! There is no character dining component to Minion Cafe but it is a solid option for casual dining at Universal Studios Florida.
