Looking for a delicious breakfast when staying at Universal Helios Grand? Flora Taverna offers a great choice for a breakfast that will satisfy the entire group.
Flora Taverna is the on-site restaurant at Universal Helios Grand Hotel. It offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options to guests. It is a sit-down restaurant and reservations are recommended.
We tried the Sunrise Breakfast during our trip to Epic Universe. It was on our check-out day so we didn’t feel rushed and could enjoy a nice breakfast before we continued on with our trip.
Flora Taverna Breakfast Menu
The Sunrise Breakfast, which is what we purchased for the five of us, included pastries, made-to-order omelets, pancakes, fruit salads, scrambled eggs, bacon, and roasted vegetables. Coffee, tea, and juice is also included.
Reservations are recommended. We made ours the day before and it was not very busy, but you never know! If you plan to dine here I suggest making reservations.

Cost
Sunrise Breakfast (buffet) at Flora Taverna cost $38.00 (guests 10 & up) and $16.00 (guests 9 & under). If you prefer to order off the menu items start at $17.00. Menu can be found here.

Flora Taverna Review
My overall impression of Flora Taverna was positive. The dining area overlooks Epic Universe and the food options had something for everyone in my family.
The price can be a bit high for an everyday breakfast, for the five of us it was $190.00 before taxes and tip. This was a big splurge and I wouldn’t say it is exactly worth it, but it is not disappointing either.
There are no characters or extras to this dining experience. For us we needed a sit-down meal after going to Epic Universe for the last few days, it was our check-out day, and we wanted a slow paced relaxing dining option.
So while I wouldn’t typically spend this much on breakfast, it worked for our situation. Usually we will plan 1-2 splurge sit-down meals during our week long trips. We budget for them so there are no surprised on the credit card bill when we arrive home.
The decor is very calming and has an outdoor cafe vibe. There are trees inside the dining area and the seating is cozy.

I really enjoyed the food. There was something for everyone to enjoy. I loved having a cup of oatmeal and trying the different pastry options.
There was also a made to order omelet station that had various meat and vegetable options. I don’t think there was anything on the menu that we didn’t enjoy, and we tried a lot of it between the five of us.
The service was perfect. Our server was friendly, kind, and very personable making it an overall great sit down meal for our last morning at Helios Grand.

Dining at Flora Taverna is an option for guests and non-guests of the hotels. They offer lunch and dinner options as well that includes hummus bowls, pastas, and Woodstone oven options. The prices are similar across lunch and dinner with entrees starting around $20.00 each.
Flora Taverna also offers a kids menu that includes chicken finger, pasta, and grilled cheese. If we were planning to visit the park I would skip the breakfast buffet and have an early lunch inside the park.
Epic Universe has some great quick service dining options. I really enjoyed Mead Hall, Toadstool Cafe, and Das Stakehaus.
I highly recommend a quick in-room breakfast on park days. The first few hours of park opening are the least busiest and your time is better spent experiencing the attractions. Then take time for a longer lunch if you want to relax a bit.
Flora Taverna is a good option if you want to splurge a bit on breakfast and take your time on your check-out day at a relaxing and cozy dining experience.
