Dining at Epic Universe is more than just a quick meal. It is a themed experience with quality dishes the entire family can enjoy. In this post I am sharing my picks for Epic Universe restaurants you need to try.

When Epic Universe announcements were being made I was excited for the food just as much as the attractions. Having a great meal in an immersive environment is a great way to extend the story and land you are visiting.

I loved walking into a mushroom to dine at Toadstool cafe as well as enter Mead Hall to dine like a Viking. The lands at Epic Universe are immersive from the attractions to the dining, and even the restrooms.

These picks below are our favorite Epic Universe restaurants that we would recommend including in your Epic Universe itinerary.

Insider Tip: Purchase tickets before you arrive to get the best deal and save time!

Epic Universe Restaurants

The exciting thing about theme parks is that they are constantly evolving, from the attractions to the dining options. This means on my next visit I might find a different dining option that wows me and then I will update this list.

For now these are my top 5 Epic Universe restaurants that we tried and highly recommend. If you want my Universal Orlando list that includes all the parks check this out: The Best Places to Eat at Universal Orlando that you can’t miss!

All of my picks are casual dining options that you do not need a reservation for. When you arrive you scan the QR code and order from the table.

We prefer counter service meals during our theme park days to maximize our time at the parks, but these options do not skimp on quality and deliciousness.

Toadstool Cafe

Guests enter through a Toadstool and are greeted by bright and vibrant colors. Images of Chef Toad are on in the background. There is a Bowser battle that cycles through the restaurant with a “storm” every 15 minutes. It is a really fun atmosphere.

The food is good, although this choice probably has my least favorite food on the list, I just really love the atmosphere. We liked the Burger and Garlic Knots. The pasta was a bit spicey.

We did visit during Preview days at Epic Universe and they were still working on all the things. I would really like to try it again on our next visit. Read Review: Toadstool Cafe Orlando | Dining at Super Nintendo World

Mead Hall

Mead Hall is impressive. With vaulted high ceilings and long tables you feel as if you stepped inside the world of How to Train Your Dragon. The food did not disappoint either.

We tried a few different dishes and shared. The Thawfest Platter had a variety of options like salmon, chicken drumsticks, and fries.

I loved the ambiance and the meal and highly suggest dining here. Read for more details: Review of Mead Hall: What We Ate & What it Cost for a Family of 5

Meteor AstroPub

Meteor AstroPub surprised me because I didn’t think I would care for it much. The dining space is a bit small and it wasn’t really on my radar for trying.

During our summer trip we ended up eating here and I actually really liked the food. I got the fish and chips and it was crispy and delicious.

There is also outdoor seating making which we took advantage on our second visit of the day to get dessert and sit and watch the fountains in Celestial Park. I share everything we ate and the cost in my review: Meteor Astropub at Epic Universe Review & Cost for Family of 5

Oak & Star

Oak & Star is a bbq dining option located in Celestial Park. It has two separate dining areas, one with music and another that is quiet. The quiet area was a great spot to dine.

We needed a break from the heat and crowds, and Oak & Star was perfect for that. The dining options are basic bbq sandwiches, pulled pork, and ribs but it is good quality and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Das Stakehaus

Das Stakehaus is a dining option that Universal really committed to the theme. Located in Dark Universe and themed around the world of Dracula, guests can dine on “blood” themed dishes in this dark and ominous restaurant.

The main dishes are offered on “stakes” and include chicken, fish, and vegetarian options. Overall a fun atmosphere and good food. Read the detailed review: Review of Das Stakehaus at Epic Universe

Final Thoughts

One of our favorite things to do when we visit Universal is check out the food and dining options. It is a part of the trip we look forward to and Epic Universe does not disappoint.

The 5 restaurants at Epic Universe I shared are of many options you can try at the park, with at least 2 more new dining locations opening in 2026, there is always a new food option to discover.

Even with the new dining spots I will continue to dine at these favorites because they are so good and a great addition to our day at the park.
