Are you tall enough to ride? Today we are sharing the height requirements for Epic Universe to help guests plan their visit to the Universal theme park.
When I first started visiting theme parks my kids were all under 10 years old. This meant I often checked the ride height requirements before I arrived to set expectations, make sure the kids knew what they could ride, and plan our day to skip attractions where we did not meet the ride height requirement.
The rides at Epic Universe range from kid friendly to big thrills and the height requirements vary as well. Let’s get into what the ride height requirements are at Epic Universe and how you can use this to plan your day.

Epic Universe Ride Height Requirements
- Stardust Racers (48 inches)
- Constellation Carousel (No Height Requirement)
- Monsters Unchained (48 inches)
- Curse of the Werewolf (40 inches)
- Dragon Racer’s Rally (48 Inches)
- Fyre Drill (No Height Requirement)
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders (40 Inches)
- Viking Training Camp (No Height Requirement, Playground)
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge (40 Inches)
- Mine-Cart Madness (40 Inches)
- Yoshi’s Adventure (34 Inches)
- Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry (40 Inches)
- Astronomica (No Height Requirement)
Rides with No Height Requirement at Epic Unvierse
There are two play areas with no height requirement at Epic Universe. Those are Viking Training Camp (big play area) and Astronomica (spray/splash area). Constellation Carousel also has no height requirements. There are stationary seats as well making this a great choice for the whole family.
Fyre Drill is a water ride that has no height requirement. You will get wet!
Rides for 40 Inches or Smaller
Most of the attractions at Epic Universe require guests to be 40 inches. My recommendation would be to visit when your kids are at 40 inches or more to be able to enjoy most of the rides at Epic Unvierse.
Curse of the Werewolf is a spinning roller coaster that most kids will enjoy. If you are prone to dizziness prepare yourself. This one gave me a bit of a spin!
All of the attractions at Super Nintendo World have a 40 inch or less height requirement. They include Mario Kart: Bowsers Challege, Mine-Cart Madness, and Yoshi’s Adventure (34″). These rides are appropriate for all guests that meet the height requirement.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in the Ministry of Magic and Hiccup’s Wing Gliders in How to Train Your Dragon-Isle of Berk both require guests to be 40″ or taller.
The Harry Potter attraction is indoors and uses screen and animatronic elements. Some guests may experience motion sickness.
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is an outdoor family friendly roller coaster with a few surprises. Similar to a less intense Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Islands of Adventure.
Ride Height Requirements of 48 Inches or More
Two attractions require guests to be 48″ or taller. They are Stardust Racers and Monsters Unchained.
Stardust Racers is a dueling roller coaster in Celestial Park. It is intense and thrilling, if you like roller coasters you will enjoy this.
Monsters Unchained is an indoor dark ride that has animatronics and guests are fully immersed into the world of classic monsters.
During our Annual Passholder Preview of Epic Universe Monsters Unchained was delayed most of the day and we didn’t get to experience it. I will report back more after our summer visit.
Guests are really loving this ride. It is scary and thrilling making it very popular at the parks.
When visiting with small children measure them before you arrive to set expectations. It is important to follow the height requirements to keep all riders safe.
If your child is not tall enough it will give you something to look forward to on your next visit or you may want to wait a bit longer to visit. Knowing the height requirements at Epic Universe will help you better prepare for your Universal trip.
